- Hotel Silberhorn ⭐⭐⭐ — smart pick — the valley floor's long-standing address, tucked off the main road just steps from the train station with front-row views of Staubbach Falls. Lauterbrunnen itself has no five-star properties — Wengen and Mürren, a short cog-railway or cable-car ride above the valley, are where the true luxury stays are.

✈️ Getting There
- Flights to Zurich (ZRH) — direct flights from Manchester year-round, followed by train via Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen (around 2.5 hours).

- Staubbach Falls — a free-falling 297-metre cascade right above the village, said to have inspired Goethe's "Song of the Spirits over the Waters", with a path leading up behind the curtain of water.
- Trümmelbach Falls — Europe's largest underground waterfall system, ten glacier-fed cascades from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau accessed by a cliff-cut elevator and tunnels. Open April to November only.
