On the North Coast at Sidi Abd El Rahman, Marassi is Egypt's answer to the Riviera — a glamorous marina town of white-sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water and design-led resorts, with the poignant WWII battlefields of El Alamein a short drive away. Hand-picked stays and things to do — every link takes you straight to Trip.com to check live prices and book.
Prices swing with the season: the North Coast is at its busiest and most expensive over the European summer (June–September), with much better value — and still-warm sea — in spring and early autumn.
🏨 Where to Stay
- Al Alamein Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — the North Coast's most storied address, a 1960s celebrity haunt reborn with mid-century glamour and art-deco flair, overlooking Sidi Abd El Rahman Bay. Home to 179 rooms, suites and royal villas, five restaurants, a signature spa and a private beach, it's ranked the area's number-one hotel — couples rate the location 9.6.
- Address Beach Resort Marassi — romantic beachfront — a sleek beachfront sanctuary set on a peninsula jutting into the Mediterranean, with wall-to-wall sea views, three pools including a rooftop lounge, a Balinese-inspired spa and direct access to soft white sand. Chic but laid-back — one of Marassi's most romantic stays for couples.
- Vida Marina Resort Marassi — smart design pick — a calm, contemporary 103-room retreat right on the Marina Promenade, with airy Mediterranean interiors, a spa and — the clever part — complimentary access to the stunning Address beach next door. Modern, design-led and genuinely good value.
- Address Marassi Golf Resort — family-friendly — a low-rise, Tuscan-style hideaway wrapped around the Marassi golf course, with four pools, a spa, dedicated kids' facilities and babysitting, and beach access through the Al Alamein Hotel. Rated 9.5 and just a two-minute drive from the marina — polished, green and quietly luxurious.
- Marassi Boutique Hotel-Marina 2 — attainable pick — an intimate 45-room boutique right on the marina, with big balconies overlooking the pool, a private beach area and access to the exclusive Marassi Beach Clubhouse. A Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice winner and a well-earned treat at a friendlier price than the flagships.

🎟️ Experiences
- El Alamein War Cemetery (Commonwealth) — a short drive from the resorts, this immaculately kept cemetery is the resting place of 7,367 British, Australian, New Zealand, South African, Indian and other Commonwealth soldiers who fell in the 1942 battles that turned the war in North Africa. A deeply moving, beautifully maintained site of quiet reflection; entry is free.
- El Alamein Military Museum — about 300 metres from the cemetery, this 1956 museum tells the story of the desert war from every side — Egyptian, Commonwealth, German and Italian — through uniforms, weapons, maps and an outdoor park of tanks and artillery. Open daily, roughly 9am–4pm. (No Trip.com booking page — visit direct.)
- Marassi Marina & beach life — in summer the resort truly comes alive: the marina promenade, 500-berth yacht harbour, beach clubs, waterpark and waterfront dining are the heart of North Coast living. Most venues open seasonally, roughly May–September. (Access is through the resorts and beach clubs rather than a Trip.com booking.)
